In The Mood For Love bukan film yang bisa ditonton tanpa konsentrasi, karena penyampaian Wong Kar-Wai mengenai konflik emosional sang karakter dan plot ceritanya disampaikan dengan cara yang sangat subtle dan cenderung less-dramatic. Editingnya juga agak putus-putus sehingga kadang kamu bingung timeline antara satu adegan dengan adegan lainnya. Saya sendiri harus memperhatikan detail-detail kecil sebagaimana yang Su Li-Zhen katakan dalam salah satu scene "you notice things if you pay attention, seperti baju yang dikenakan Mrs. Chan atau dasi yang dikenakan Mr. Chow untuk tahu bahwa antar satu adegan dengan adegan lainnya ada di waktu yang berbeda. Demikian pula dengan setting tempatnya saya harus memperhatikan detail-detail kecil seperti furniture yang ada. Ketika film telah selesai pada percobaan menonton pertama kali yang disambi mainan handphone saya akui saya sampai harus nonton dua kali, saya nggak terlalu dapet kesan yang memuaskan mengenai film ini. Namun ketika menonton untuk kali kedua, ketika konsentrasi saya benar-benar tercurahkan untuk menonton filmnya dengan lebih memperhatikan detail-detail kecilnya, pada akhir film saya akhirnya memahami betapa indah dan sedih-nya In The Mood For Love.
